Note: This feature is only available to specific permission levels. The default setting provides access to supervisors or managers, but not employees. Custom permission levels can be set on the Pro version of busybusy.

Once this feature is set and turned on, it uses the project's geofence to verify the employee is within the project's boundaries in order for them to clock in or switch their time to it. These onsite verifications are only for when the employees are clocking themselves in. Upper management can still clock in employees to these projects if employees are not at the job site and need to be clocked in remotely. The On-Site Verification feature is found within each project's detail section and are off by default. The projects geolocation needs to be setup first in order to turn on On-Site Verification. Web:

Enable On-Site Verification For a Project:

  1. From your Main Menu, select Projects
  2. Select a project
  3. Select the "Details" tab
  4. Select "Edit Details"
  5. Select the box "Require On-Site Clock In" (need to have geolocation set)
  6. (Optional) Select the box "Apply to Subprojects"
  7. Select "Save"

Notes: 

  • If you select the box "Apply to Subprojects" and the subprojects don't have a geolocation set for them, the system will automatically use the main parent project's geolocation.
  • If employee's phone GPS is turned off and goes to clock into a project that has On-Site Verification turned on, they won't be able to clock in unless they turn on their GPS for verification or if upper management clocks them in.
  • On-Site Verification only applies to "Clock In" & "Switch"
  • With On-Site Verification enabled, notifications that have “Clock In” as an action will now take you to the clock details to give the app the opportunity to verify the user's location.

Android/iOS:

Enable On-Site Verification For a Project:

  1. From your Main Menu, select Projects
  2. Select a project
  3. Select the Settings button (Gear icon)
  4. Select "Location Features" (need to have geolocation set for project)
  5. Tap on the toggle switch for "Require On-Site Clock In" 
  6. (Optional) Tap on the toggle switch for "Apply to Subprojects"
  7. Press the back button on the upper left corner
  8. Select "Save/Done"
